Color aficionado and native of Colorado, Kim has spent her career in the arts. More commercial in nature, she graduated with a degree in visual communications from the Colorado Institute of Art. Her education was concentrated in commercial art, but also emphasized mixed media,
drawing, painting & printmaking.
Kim has been a graphic designer for twenty-seven years and has run her own design firm for twenty-one. Her true aptitude is the use of shapes, color and contrast to create visibility and peak interest. Arresting the observer's attention is first and foremost, when the goal is engaging a target audience. This holds true for her art, the same endeavors that make her a successful designer, translate to making her a passionate and effective fine artist.
Painting is an outlet for me to express my absolute love of color. Combining that core element with contrast and texture on canvas makes each work of art a bold personal statement. I get lost in the saturation of hues, color enveloping and bleeding into color, vibrant chromas side by side and the sometimes accidental ways the pigments blend. My palette is my perspective of beauty and the colorful world in which we share. The shapes, textures and techniques of subject, brush and paint are an avenue for me to share my passion for color with you.
